mechanic screwed up. how bad are they sugar coating me?

I have video and pictures of a mechanic shop admitting they screwed up but said its no big deal.

I went in for a trans flush to make sure I didn't void any warranty. a week prior I did a oil change and didn't even drive 100 miles before I went in for the trans flush. When I went to pick up my truck they said I was low 3 quarts low on oil! I was freaking out trying to figure out what happened as they were closing the doors for the day. to shorten this up they somehow replaced my engine oil with trans fluid and no idea where the 3 quarts of oil they added went to... the trans maybe?

I drove for 40-50 minutes or 15-20miles in total before figuring out what they did.

What damage if any did they do?

Was this a quick lube joint? Those are notorious for this kind of thing. (By the way, flushing automatic transmissions is a bad idea. The external pressure used in the procedure can cause damage. Drain and fill or fluid exchange is the way to go.)

It's hard to say what kind of damage you have without knowing exactly what was done. If they put trans fluid in the engine the oil and filter obviously need to be changed ASAP. Same for the transmission fluid and filter (if applicable) if they put engine oil in there.

Did the vehicle exhibit any symptoms? Bad noises, erratic shifting, slipping?

I figured I'd do what the warranty recommended so I wouldn't void it  now I'm trying figure out what's my next step. will the warranty void it because of who they referred me to? am I able hold them and/or the mechanic liable for their mistake if any damages or if theres a void on the warranty?

All I can say for sure is you'd better get the correct fluids into that engine and transmission to have any shot of them not cratering on you.

You could talk to the manager of the shop but chances are you would have to sue them, and for that you would need proof of damages and sufficient evidence they caused the damage. You did not provide any information on the vehicle but if it is fairly old the shop will likely claim that they did nothing wrong and any failure is due to age. However if the shop's records show they performed the required services to keep the warranty in effect then in theory the warranty company would have to fix any problems that result. Problem there is most of those 3rd party warranty companies are ripoff artists who will use any excuse to deny claims.

it's a 2016 Chevy Silverado 4.3 v6 6 speed transmission I have video of them talking on how they screwed up what the shop name right behind them. also have them saying they have no idea where the 3 quarts of oil went and have video of the trans fluid coming out of the the oil pan and put it on paper to show. I mean I have all proof needed if I can hold them accountable. do I tell my warranty? truthfully I'd just like my warranty money back because this 3 party warranty is a joke

Write a formal letter to the warranty company. I think that since the shop is recommended and accredited by the warranty company, the warranty company should rightfully cover your losses. But ultimately you need to read the fine print on your contract.

Nope they're called Groesbeck Auto Care and was referred by drum roll... scotty will be disappointed... a 3 party warranty.  So preexisting the transmission was shuttering and jerking while  it would downshift around 10mph. I have a strong hunch they added oil to the trans because the fluid was originally dark brown and after it seemed clearer and looked like synthetic/oil and not trans fluid.  I figured I'd do what the warranty recommended so I wouldn't void it  now I'm trying figure out what's my next step. will the warranty void it because of who they referred me to? am I able hold them and/or the mechanic liable for their mistake if any damages or if theres a void on the warranty?

The only thing I noticed different after the clowns worked on it was the vehicle felt bogged down some with same issues being present

The warranty company will probably refuse to honor any claims for internal engine or transmission problems if you or the shop inform them of what happened, and they would likely tell you to sue the shop if you have problems. (Of course the way most of those outfits work they might deny coverage anyway.) That's only a guess though, the only way to find out what they would actually do is to talk to them.

You can talk to the shop manager but I'd be surprised if they do anything, but you should make the attempt. If you do wind up in court you'd want to be able to show that you attempted to get the shop to make good and they refused. You could also send samples of the engine oil and transmission fluid to a lab (such as Blackstone Labs, etc.) for analysis as further evidence of what happened.

A problem is that you do not yet really have any quantifiable losses (engine and trans have not cratered). You should probably be talking to a lawyer about your options.

I have been in contact with the shop. I don't know why but I let them have another go at it... but still I can see a very faint pink in the oil so will need to be changed again. though think there's some damage as now I here a slight tick. maybe the lifters?  And the trans is starting to slip but wasn't before.

They actually keep and send notes. They preformed a full check and states proper engine start-up and idle but nothing else in the notes about the engine before the flush

I've been trying to find a lawyer that deals with this sort of thing but can't find anyone right now cause I've never been a situation like this and help from anyone would be great.
