Hey Scotty! I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI with 105,000 miles. Any special problem this car is known for? Any special maintenance I should focus on? I try to baby it as much as possible as is my first car and I want to daily drive for as long as possible. Water pump and A/C compressor were recently replaced. Main problem when I got it was overheating on the highway at high speed. This appears to be fixed by unclogging the radiator multiple times and haven't overheated unless I really rev it up on the highway. Head gasket was tested and appears to be fine with no leaks. Thanks and greetings from the DR
The weakest link is the automatic transmission, so don’t push it too hard.
Mitsubishi petrols are also renowned for blowing head gaskets.
