Should I buy this SUV

Good day Scotty!

I am looking into buying a 2011 Mazda CX-9 with 161,134 miles in it. Based on my research on this SUV the biggest problem is the water pump. I am already anticipating that I wont be able to get the exact history of this car as this is being sold from a used car dealership (I dont have much of an option on this).

If I was to buy this and just wanting to be on the safe side, would it be a good idea to just have the water pump changed right after I buy the car? or would I be better off just leaving it as is.

Personally if I can use this car for at least 3 years without putting much into it other than the buying price, I would already be very happy. This car will be mainly be used for city driving here in Manchester NH and the occasional trips to surrounding states for sight seeing no off-roading or anything too taxing.

The price of the Mazda would allow us to give a much better answer!

Try finding one with lower mileage, particularly since the CX-7 is turbocharged. Please post the listing of the one you're looking at with 161K so that I can see the price and that if it is a good buy or not.

No. That price is absurd! It's $1000 over the 'full retail price' . Sorry, but that is a bad deal...

it's 12 years old with high mileage. Not much life left. It's going to be a money pit. It could be ok to drive around for a year and then sell, but they price is way too high for that. Try offering $5k but they probably won't take it. Walk away.
