NEED HELP!! 2005 Toyota Tundra 4WD 4.7 V8 (P0500 code)

I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra SR5 Quad cab 4.7 V8 4WD that I purchased new. It has 238k miles on it and I've never had any problems with it until recently. Suddenly my speedometer and odometer stopped working and I got an ABS light. I purchased and installed all new ABS / Speed sensors on all 4 wheels and both sensors on each side of the transmission and still my speedometer and odometer don't work and I still have the ABS light on. My local Toyota dealership don't seem to be interested in diagnosising and working on the truck due to its age and I'm just confused. I have one code that constantly comes back as soon as the truck starts moving and that's the P-0500 (Speed sensor a). I have checked all fuses and the wire harness that runs across the rear axle and all looks good. The truck has been here in Georgia it's entire life so definitely no rust or corrosion anywhere. I've watched Scotty for many years and I can't seen to find anything on this problem which seems to be a common issue. I really need help from anyone that can let me know how to fix this? I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put my number or email address on this question as this is the first time I've posted anything. I will list it anyways and please forgive if I wasn't suppose to do that...I just need help.

I'm not sure if my Tundra has a mechanical speed sensor as I can't find it anywhere on the transmission or engine but I do see them on Ebay for sale for my year make and model Tundra

I watched that video and as I stated in my original post, that cable that runs across the rear axle is in perfect condition


Does live data show signals coming from the transmission speed sensor and wheel sensors? Did you use OEM wheel sensors?

I think that video which @chucktobias posted from Eric is really helpful as a diagnostic road map to determining the cause for your P0500 code.

The cause of the code may not be that same wiring connector on your Tundra, but you'll use the same steps that Eric followed to figure out what's setting the code on yours.

It's probably helpful to jump ahead in the video and look at the circuit description. Here's the screenshot:

So right here you know it's a wheel speed sensor signal issue and the P0500 DTC Detection Condition confirms that by saying "No vehicle speed sensor signal".

 After checking for codes and finding the P0500 code, the next thing that Eric did with is scanner was to back out of the PCM codes and went to Chassis/ABS and read the ABS Chassis "C" codes.

Here he was able to narrow the wheel speed sensor signal issue down to 2 of the sensors. (and these days you can buy a relatively inexpensive scanner that can read ABS codes). In Eric's case there's a C0210 and a C0215 code being set and with both back speed sensors setting codes he suspected an issue at the wiring connector where the 2 sensors plugged into the harness going forward.

 

Maybe yours will only have 1 wheel speed sensor code but that narrows your troubleshooting down to that wheel speed sensor/wheel speed sensor circuit.

Then Eric went to the ABS Live Data for the Wheel Speed Sensors just to confirm. So even though some cheaper scanners can read the ABS codes they probably can't do this. But he just confirmed what the ABS "C" codes were already saying. No speed sensor signal from the rear speed sensors.

So this reply is already turning into an illustrated novel and we can continue with some specific  troubleshooting strategies if you want after you determine which of the wheel speed sensor(s) are acting up
