How do I fix trouble code P0014 - "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)

My 2011 V6 Hyundai Santa Fe has 110,000 mi. The last 1,000 miles it started to throw P0014 code every 300-400 miles, then it would be gone the next time I start my car. I change the oil regularly myself every 5,000 miles.

From what I read, cleaning or replacing the exhaust variable valve solenoid usually is the fix.

Can anyone share a similar experience and what fixed it? Thank you.

FYI got the car at 80,000 miles.

Those 4 cylinders are a lot easier to get to..I’ve scoured the internet to find how it’s done for a v6 but can’t find it. After inspecting it looks like I’ll have to take off the intake manifold and cylinder head cover to get it out

Unfortunately that is the case for most modern V6 engines.

If you don’t mind answering another question, Why do you suspect that the code comes and goes?

Could be a lot of things, like an intermittent bad connector or temperature-sensitive fault in the sensor. Using your scanner to capture and examine sensor output may shed some light on it.
