Recently the parking brake on my 2008 Mazda 3 has sometimes required a longer pull before holding the car. It's not consistent, so I don't think it's a matter of a simple adjustment. It doesn't seem to be related to snow. I couldn't find any service bulletins on this.
I bought the car a few months ago, at a small used car dealer in the Twin Cities that specializes in Japanese cars. It has about 65K miles, and otherwise runs fine.
I would inspect the park brake
Do you mean the cable, or the part at the back wheels, or the whole thing? I was hoping to find out if this particular model is prone to this, or if someone solved a similar problem.
