Should I buy a 2002 Toyota Tundra?

Hey Scotty, I am about 15 years old, and I am looking for a dependable pickup for highschool. All of my relatives own at least one Toyota, and say that it is their most reliable car. Anyway, this pickup is a 2002 Toyota Tundra 4x4 with the TRD Off Road Package, and it has been in my grandfathers construction business since it was new. It has minimal rust, and an automatic transmission. I did an average value test through edmunds.com ,it came out at around 2-3 thousand dollars. It doesn't have many bells and whistles, but would this be a good investment?

Make: Toyota

Model: Tundra

Year: 2002

Mileage: Around 200,00 miles.

Selling from private party,

Thanks! P.S I sent you an email regarding this, and i have heard no response. You answering this would be mind blowing! I am also subscribed to your channel! ;P

Usually they are just getting broken in good at 200,000 miles. As long as it isn’t rusting on the frame it could be a good buy. Typically I stay away from company vehicles because employees drive them hard. If your grandfather has maintenance records for it and you like it then I would say ok. Again look at the frame, if it has a lot of rust in certain areas I wouldn’t. Lookup tundra frame rust on google.

Ok, Thanks! minimal rust. not many electronics to worry about.

Ok, This Tundra has been worked hard, but has been taken car of for the most part. Minimal rust on the frame, my uncle who works for the company drove it a lot, and was pretty nice to it. mostly used it to haul tools, maybe a trailer a few times, but I don't think he ever had it serviced. Changed the oil, and got new tires for the pickup and that was pretty much it.
