Hi Scotty,
• Model: 2021 VW T-Roc Cabrio R-Line
• Location: Valencia, Spain
My car was submerged in recent flooding in Valencia. Muddy floodwater covered the bonnet and reached almost to the top of the roof. The car’s exterior has multiple dents, likely caused by collisions with other vehicles or debris floating in the floodwater.
Interior Damage:
• Muddy water entered the cabin, covering the seats, dashboard, and all interior surfaces.
• Electronics appear to be non-functional; the key fob failed to unlock the car, suggesting potential electrical damage or a dead battery.
Access and Current Condition:
• The convertible roof was partially open at the front (reason unknown), which allowed limited access to reach inside and open the passenger side door.
• The car has not been started since the incident, and the current battery/electrical condition is unknown.
• The vehicle is currently parked on a street alongside other damaged cars, making towing and repair access challenging.
Questions:
1. Can the vehicle be repaired given the level of flooding and physical damage?
2. What are the next steps to assess and begin repairs?
Many thanks,
Thom
Any insurance company would total the car for sure because of damage. Dawn. All the electronic craps on modern cars can't take that and even if you got it running all the electronics will be slowly rotting away inside from the flood water. I had a customer with one of those Volkswagens that got such a vehicle running and then within a year the entire thing fell apart
