Scotty,
My girlfriend wants me to replace her tires and wheels, she wants the rear tires to be bigger or taller than the front tires. She thinks that in theory, this will increase her gas millage, in that the car will always be going downhill. How do I explain that it does not work that way and even if it did she would always be having to ride the brakes.
Thanks,
Beaver
It may look like it's going down hill but it's not. Gravity is not a theory and it doesn't work that way.
please don't troll
Tell her the taller tires and wheels are much heavier and will offset any imaginary gain from gravity. Not even a girlfriend can deny that kind of logic. {pear}
Tell her -
Putting larger tires on the rear will change the final drive gear ratio, the speedometer will not read correctly and the larger tires will put a great deal more strain on your transmission and burn it out.
