Hey there, wanted to know what you think about engine oil analysis & what it can tell you about your engines condition. I still have my old car from high school that still runs well & I want to toy with it. I plan on putting a new motor in it over the years & actually making it a fun street car. But for now I want to rig up a turbo for it, put a tune on it & so on. Its a 2000 Camaro, 3.8. Yes I know its a V6 and noone wants them blah blah, its a cast iron block, 4 bolt main, & guys have pushed over 20lbs through these things, I probably wouldnt do half that. Anyway I was thinking about doing an engine oil analysis to see how the engines actually doing. I want to make sure there aren't excessive metals floating around in there, make sure there isn't any coolant seeping in anywhere, and also I think it would just be cool to see. The motor still has good compression, & has had regular oil changes. Sitting around 102k, and an automatic transmission that's in great shape. Love the videos, thanks in advance.

Engine oil analysis is useful and can tell you some things about the health of your engine. The oil analysis won’t tell you everything, but still insightful. See below by Engineering Explained:

yup love that guy, this video is where I got the idea from
The test can tell you a lot about your engine conditions.
Best test I know of is a wet and dry compression test, and it's free.
