Hey there Scotty is it possible to put a (small)lite turbo on a 3.6 pentastar engine even if it's Naturally Aspirated?🤔

My question is why would you want to do that?

Just asking for trouble, imo.
Scotty has said over and over again that, turbocharging increases compression which increases the strain on your engine and therefore is going to make it wear out faster.

@rpmartin32
Well I'm thinking of just putting on a small turbo that can push out 5-10 pounds of boost(psi if that works) It might not give me the boost I want but it'll give me what I need plus the tune so I'm still staying in the safety zone on keeping my engine from blowing when its just getting a little bit of boost from the turbo but I totally understand what you mean.

@ken070
If you have the money and don't really care about the longevity of the car, then feel free to experiment around! Max boost you should run on a completely stock NA engine is 5-7 psi. Anything more than 7 psi without upgraded engine internals is dangerous. And be sure to get a tune as soon as possible once the turbo is installed so that the ECU is optimized to compensate for the boost. If you end up doing it, have fun!

I wouldn’t do it. You’ll invite more headaches for very little gain & probably regret it in future.

Having said that, it’s your money. You can do what you please, but do your homework well, before you start buying any parts.

I totally understand what you mean but I just want to add a little performance because my engine push out about 292 horsepower like I'm not trying to make it fast as a Scat Pack or Hellcat lol.

Yes. Get a kit, several available, takes about 6 hours, boots power about 20% or more.

@oldrangernut
What do kit do you recommend? Someone told me to get a GT3 turbo
