I have a 2022 Toyota Venza with 26k miles & since the car has been discontinued, I was told that parts inventory for this model will be hard to get in the future and the price will be very high. I waited over 8 weeks on a rear door shock absorber/motor that Toyota admits they've had issues with. Should I be concerned about parts going forward?
Would appreciate an answer.
Thanks.
Well as time goes by yes it will be harder to find parts, but you shouldn't have any issues for the first few years. And even moving forward you'll still be able to find parts, it's a generic car not a special car discontinued many years ago.
The Venza is basically a RAV4 Hybrid underneath, which is basically a Camry Hybrid underneath.
Most of the mechanical parts should more or less be the same across all three vehicles. They are usually quite interchangeable.
However, body and styling parts may be slim pickings. Because those are unique to the Venza.
Chances are that a lot of mechanical parts and even sensors are shared with other Toyota models. Body, trim, and interior parts may become hard to find but it will take quite a few years. I drive cars from manufacturers that have been completely dead and gone for quite a few years now but still can get parts, though sometimes it can take some searching.

Thanks for your reply. I was told by a guy who’s been working for yrs at a Toyota dealer parts dept that Toyota gets rid of inventory on discontinued Toyotas. Good to know that might not be the case.
Every manufacturer is required to continue to make parts for a certain amount of years (correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it’s 7). And generally if their factory warranty period is longer than the amount of years they’re required to make parts, it would make sense for them to make parts for that amount of years. Either way, with your car being 2-3 years old, they should still have parts for it as it’s still under warranty. If they don’t have the parts for it and they can’t fix it in time, legally you can sue under the lemon law. Also being a Toyota, there’s a generally a large aftermarket.
