WHat do I do if my car was keyed

Long story short insurance won't pay for it so I need a cheap way to get out the scratches and cover the damage is there anything I can use to do that, which also isn't that expensive?

How cheap are you talking and Are you talking like completely look like it never happened repair?

There is a way to do it with a bit of elbow grease and a lot of color correction paint.

Or you can just say screw it and fill the areas with whatever paint you want and wrap it.

Maaco will paint your entire car for 600 but don't expect quality. And the scratches will probably still be visible in some angles. You got to prescuff your car beforehand too or else they just paint over whatever dirt you got on the car lol

All these are options but anything below that 600 mark is getting into ghetto territory and you might as well then just leave it as is. Overall it does spend on how deep the scratch is as well, cause that will determine the work needed to fix it.

Honestly as a college student I'm hoping for pretty cheap because I can't afford to go to a bodywork place to get it fixed so color correction paint actually sounds like a good idea, how do I use it to fix the key marks? Some of the marks I'm pretty sure can be buffed out and some are deep like to the car's metal frame. I am willing to do the work though if it can significantly fix the complexion of my car

Try this. It might be of some use.

Good job BruceREE, I was thinking of the same video. ChrixFix has some great content.

I like almost all his content except for probably the DIY prius battery. Idk if he took it down but it's dangerous to teach people how to replace a bad cell if they don't have the proper protection, tools AND knowhow and just from one video people be all like "I got this hold my beer"

Thanks BruceRee I actually watched I'm nervous to do it but it looks doable thanks so much.

Since I saw a video of Scotty warning about this video with hybrid car battery, I do not trust this guy when it comes to serious repairs

For sure not. I would not either with that said, his content, he does give an accurate baseline info about a lot of stuff. Just the battery swapping is my only nitpick out of his content.

It depends on how deep and wide the scratches happen to be. It's hard to say without that visual data.

Some of them are really small and could be easily buffed out without needing anything special but some are really deep and require a significant amount of attention, like for example some of the scratches go through the paint all the way to the metal.

Are there any security cameras where the car was parked? If possible the thing to do would be to find the person who did it and make them pay for fixing it.

No camera's which is unfortunate it was parked at a small grocery store which honestly should've had them they only had indoor cameras.
