Hi Scotty,
I just bought a 2017 Toyota Tundra That was owned by a elderly gentleman. It has 25,000 miles. one owner no accidents. I saw the carfax report and he had it serviced every 3,000 miles.
Would you take it to a Toyota dealer for oil changes and if so what type of oil would you recommend?
Love you videos and live streams.
Jeff.
Never take your vehicle to a stealership. Find a good, independent mechanic (and not a chain shop) to perform the oil changes if you don’t want to do it yourself.
.
As for the type of oil, use the type that meets the specifications in your owner’s manual. The brand does not matter as long as it meets those specifications. Be sure to use a premium oil filter each time.
.
It’s also OK to move to every 5,000 miles or once a year whichever comes first.
Either change it yourself or have a trusted independent mechanic do it for you. As for oil filter I always buy from the dealership near me when they have a sale for buying 3 or more. Oil use a reputable brand that is API certified and meets the specifications in your owner's manual.
Whatever it says on the oil cap or in the manual
If you really want to you could do it at the dealership even though it's not recommended but just don't under any circumstances do anything else then they tell you you have to do by them have a mechanic look at it and see if it really needs to be done
