Wheel noise while in motion is back again

Hi all, the noise which I thought was solved is back. My 2010 RDX SH-AWD is making a horrendous squealing noise from the front right corner of the car only while moving. It is intermittent, but I've noticed it a lot more when the roads are dirty from salt/snow.

Recent work done since Oct 2021;

  • Front right wheel bearing replaced
  • Both front CV shafts replaced (leaking)
  • Brakes serviced by two shops (Honda dealer & independent), rear pads and rotors replaced at dealer.
  • New tires all around

I've attached some videos I took of it today, the frequency of this sound is relative to the speed of the wheel turning, whether Im accelerating, braking or coasting, it stops when I stop. I was thinking (and hoping) it is maybe some dirt/debris rubbing between the pads and rotors on that one wheel, but it's driving me insane and I want to get to the bottom of this.

I'm just looking for any opinions on where to go next with this, any help would be appreciated

I would take the wheel off there and check see if there's dirt or something rubbing on it especially if the rotors looks scored they need replacing. And obviously it's something to do with that corner it makes the noise proportional to the rotation of the wheel couldn't be a wheel bearing

Thanks for the reply Scotty, I pulled the pads off and out and there’s a heck of a lot of dirt/uneven scuffing on the inner Center most area of the old material, it wipes right off but could this mean warping? The rotor on the front passenger looks a little scored as well, what should my next step be?

I cleaned everything off, but the pad material had a very jagged feel to it where the dirt mostly was and the scoring was also to the Center of the rotor. My test drive yields a mostly if not completely silent ride. I do hear the odd squeal here and there which I’m thinking is from some unevenness. Should the pads (and rotors) be replaced?

What exactly was done here?

Did you happen to take any pictures, while you had everything off?

If you’re still on the original pads and rotors, I’d replace them now with OEM rotors and Akebono pads.

Sounds like dirt/debris is getting in there on the pads, and squealing when you’re driving.

Front caliper service and just a general regrease of everything upfront at independent.

The Honda dealer did the rear pads and rotors along with a fluid flush/replacement.

Yes, but I'm not sure how to get pictures on here, meant to earlier, I'm not sure if the google photos link will work;

Ive owned this car since August 2021, with 195xxxkm on it, I doubt these are the originals, the Honda dealer said the rotors and pads were still good (10mm left), but that was before these noises and scratches appeared. If it comes to replacing, will definitely go through Honda for rotors.

the odd squeal does make itself known every now and then, not nearly as frequent and you really need to listen for it to hear it. Especially when colder.

I am looking to possibly just replacing the front rotors and pads depending on what advice I get here on the scoring, also due to the unknown quality of the current pads and rotors. The rear OEM rotors installed by Honda are stamped with "HONDA", whereas the fronts currently don't have any branding.

What brand are those front pads? OEM? From your description it seems like the previous owner/s just threw on the cheapest pads & rotors. The scoring which you can feel prominently, might be the cue to spend the money for new OEM rotors and Akebono (or atleast OEM) pads. Ideally, the rotors should have a smooth surface.

I don’t recall there being any branding on the pads other than a few random letters/numbers. Looking at the condition of the rotors (amount of rust and wear) compared to the semi newness of the pads, might’ve been a pad slap job prior. Would you recommend just going ahead replacing the pads too? Or just the rotors?
