Where is the transfer case fluid fill plug on 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD + Slip Yoke Fix?

Removed the driveshaft to replace the u joints thinking it would solve the truck thudding when accelerating in 1st gear & reverse. There's still the same little play movement turning the driveshaft back & forth after u joint replacement so I had a premonition that it didn't work since it's supposed to be solid. It's probably what they call a slip bump problem so I have to remove the shaft again to grease the yoke with Super Lube with PTFE. Worst case scenario if this doesn't work, what else could it be?

Anyway, fluid came out from the transfer case (about half quart), but I'm having a hell of a time looking for the fill in & drain plugs for it. I want to replace the fluid & was thinking of just adding it through the transmission fluid dipstick, but my research says they use the same fluid, but don't share the supply. In the Haynes manual & YouTube videos, it says to remove the damper (bottom rear side of transfer case) & the plug should be removed with a 3/8" socket extension) & the fill plug should be near the yoke. Is that only for 4WD models? I can't find the plugs! It's not on the driver's side & not on the rear. Don't tell me I need to remove the catalytic converter just to get to it. Please tell or show me where I can find the transfer case plugs for my model. Thanks.

If you have a 2WD then you don't have a transfer case
