Hey Scotty I have a 2017 GMC Yukon Bought it Brand New so I am the Original Owner and put 33k Miles on it. I have been noticing a Whine that is occurring in my Truck for 30 seconds to 1 Minute and it just goes away, I hooked up the Bluetooth Scan Tool and it shows no codes for it in fact I am also noticing that the whine only occurs when the truck is already Warm so in the Summer I'd hear it every time I start my truck and in the Cooler/Colder I don't hear it until the vehicle has warmed up enough, I took it to the dealer mechanic and explained it to him and he goes on a Tangent about all my Plugs and charging cables (I am a serious Tech head and I drive buses so I have to have many Tablets for Electronic Logs and Bluetooth headsets charging) thought many times I have proven that despite unplugging all my usb chargers and stuff the whine still happens. I explained to the Dealer Mechanic that it sounds like the whine is coming from the driver side front of the vehicle and once again he expresses that my plugs are causing a drain though he didn't test the battery or anything and got mad when I told him that I did not bring my Yukon in because of Battery drain. So I do not drag this on further I left my Yukon with him over night at the dealer, come back the next day and he says that he couldn't replicate what I was hearing, continued on about plugs causing battery drain, I get in my truck and every one of my plugs were disconnected and left all over the floor and seats and still never got the answer of what was causing that whine.

Watch Scotty’s video on how to find the source of car noises in your car.

Have you checked any pulleys run by the drive belt?

Serpentine belt idler pulley, tensioner, alternator, a/c compressor, or power steering pump...failing.
