| Hi Scotty. I have a 98 Dodge Dakota.318. 5.2. It runs excellent.but I can't get smogged. The report from the shop . I took it too. Said it has something to do with the wiring harness. The codes are po443 - evap purge.the other is control circuit p_ 1495 . The tech recommends to have a electrical diagnostic performed. Have you ever heard of a wiring for a purge valve connector. Or any of the other wiring harness keeping a vehicle from passing smog. Thanks for all your time. Much appreciated God bless. | |||||

| Good morning Mr. Kilmer, I have a 4.7 Liter PowerTech/Magnum Engine in my 2004 Dodge Dakota Sport 4X4 with a 545RFE Automatic Transmission and a 22 Gallon Fuel Tank. I was curious if I were to replace the current transmission with a ZF 8HP70 Transmission would I see a major difference in fuel economy and performance? Note, this is my project truck and I'm trying to max it out with a balance of performance and efficiency. I'm a retired U.S. Army Veteran of 27 years of service in IT and a new automotive student. I'm also a MOPAR fan but hate Fiat. | |||||

| Scotty, I got a 97 Dakota 175k miles with the 318 magnum engine and an automatic transmission ( RE44 I think ). I paid sixteen hundred bucks for it I thing I got a good deal. From all I can tell it only needs a thermostat and a oil pump. Is there anything else I should look at in these old trucks and Should I preemptively get a factory rebuild transmission for it. | |||||

| I am planning to get a RAV 4 Prime but I want to make sure that I don't make a bad decision. My question is: how bad is it to use the gas engine once a month for a few miles? I live in North Dakota (-30F) and usually I keep the car in a heated garage overnight. I don't drive more than 10mi/day, and park it outside for 8 to 10 hours. Maybe every 2 months I drive to big cities like Minneapolis or Winnipeg on the highway. If I use the RAV 4 Prime for 2 cold months only in EV mode, the Gas engine will breakdown because of not using it? | |||||
