| 2006 Ford Ranger Leans to Drivers side | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | lynx | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I'm a new viewer and member. I've a question about my 2006 Ford ranger XLT extended cab, 3.0 liter automatic trans. 124,000 miles. My truck is lower on drivers side by 1" than passenger side. Rides ok and passed state inspection this way (Va.). Also holds front end alignment. Looks like crap though. I've not seen any other ranger like that. I'd like to fix that though. Any suggestions? | |||||

| ... while I was driving home on the highway, when I'd approach steeper hills, the truck would struggle to downshift. 251k miles were on it and I bought it 6 years ago. I rebuilt the transmission shortly after I bought it, and the mechanics let me keep the stuff that didn't require a core deposit. I got the overdrive gears back, and they had debris in them. They'd go smoothly for the first 2/3 of a revolution or so, then they'd get gritty and hang up. That's what was causing the transmission to struggle with downshifting. While I was fixing it up, I notic ... | |||||
| Answer to: Ford Ranger vs Ford Maverick | 32Relevance | 4 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Neither. The ranger uses the same EcoBoost engine as the Mustang, which is not made for a truck. The Maverick EcoBoost engine is made for Ford Escapes, Focuses and Fusions, also not truck-like. The only thing giving them power is the turbo. The Maverick is also not a real pickup truck, as @Kaizen said. It's a unibody car that looks like a truck. They're made in Mexico, which is where most of Ford's vehicles come from that are having quality problems. They're probably cheap for a reason. If you want to stick with a Ford, find an old Ford ranger that's in goo ... | |||||

| What is Ford Australia doing? | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Paulsi | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, 85% of Ford Australia sales are ranger and the rest are a selection of models almost no one wants! Hard to believe that a major player like Ford can’t source vehicles that Aussies want to buy! They only need a hiccup in ranger sales and Ford Australia will be gone, like you said about Honda Australia, these big companies don’t care about a small market! But Toyota have numerous best selling models here and 25% market share, shows how different these companies are. | |||||

| Hey Scotty! I live in Canada. Quick question about a new pickup truck. Ford ranger vs Chevy Colorado - GMC Canyon? The ranger is equipped with a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine whereas the GM trucks are equipped with a Naturally Aspirated V6. I heard those Ford Ecoboost engines have problems as they age. I know a Tacoma would outlast both of those but between Ford and GM which one would you take? Thanks! | |||||

| Especially not for a 68 year-old, for somebody who's in his 30s, it would make a great "sleeper". Someone near my house actually has a modified V8 ranger, I hear it all the time when I'm outside. They modified the exhaust and I always think it's a Mustang GT, until I see it's a Ford ranger, haha. | |||||

| Your transmission is slipping, or the torque converter lockup won't engage. I have a 1999 ranger 4x4 with the same 3.0 engine. It flashes when your transmission slips, or the torque converter lockup is bad. You didn't mention your mileage, but I can just about guarantee that's the case. Your transmission is a 4R44E. | |||||

| Hi sir Scotty, My country is selling a new 2023 Ford ranger with a 2.0L single turbo engine with a 6speed Automatic transmission and it has been sold here for many years now. But in the 2023 model they put it in all the variants of the rangers except the top trim 4x4 that comes with a BITURBO 10speed AT. I watched your videos about it saying it has problems with the 10speed AT. But if I get the lower trim which only has a 6speed AT is it a good choice? I like the looks of the new Ford ranger and the ride comfort it has a huge space under the hood because the ... | |||||

| Answer to: Fix it or get a new truck? | 29Relevance | 7 months ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You would be sorely mistaken if you were to do that. The new ranger has the GM-Ford 10-speed automatic transmission, which has been nothing but a disaster, with both Ford and GM having issued recall after recall to "fix" stuff that's in that transmission. The transmission was so poorly developed, both Ford and GM say they will never work together on any joint venture ever again. I wouldn't touch any new Ford with a 10-foot pole because of Ford's horrendous quality control. This is why you should have had a mechanic go over the vehicle before purchase. Y ... | |||||
