| Answer to: 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 WS6 (5.7L V-8) eats alternators, why? How to fix ? | 32Relevance | 5 years ago | Sagewyn | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| oh shoot, well too late, the new battery is on a truck on the way to my house as we type, Ill watch the video thanks. unfortunately I bought three batteries three years ago for three cars i seldomly use, i forgot to leave them on trickle charger. The lead acid battery diehard silver in my 1990 caddy was shot and would not change after letting sit. even though it was only used a few times The autocraft agm (Not spiral) battery in the 1989 firebird was shot and had 1.9 volsts and woudl only charge to 4 , it was 1 year old on shelf when they sold it to me. The Optima red top spiral agm in my 1967 firebid turned over the engine with no effort despite sitting with no trickle charger for 2+ years. I charged it and it si fine. I find when i leave them all on troickle chargers then the gfci trips or something and the circuit in the wall quits working and the outlets are dead. This could also be becuase i added several flourexcent lights to the ciruit? What is a good battery to buy then? Or should i just keep them all on trickle chargers. Optima sells a charger which they says can recover deeply discharegd batteries. Are my batteries likely "deeply discharged" or do they have a bad cell. Is the expensive optima charger worth it? I have two battery tender brand chargers and on auotzone trickle charger. Should I leave these on the batteries full time? i would guess so | |||||

| My buddy has a 2006 dodge charger V8 Hemi automatic 150k miles. Was wondering why towing capacity is only 2k lbs. It's a huge V8 engine, couldn't it tow cars often weighing 2-5klbs easy? Or is it the transmission that is too weak and could give out? He was thinking about putting a receiver on it and towing cars every now and then with a tow bar. | |||||

| Scotty, I have watched your channel for a while now, and I appreciate your approach to all things automotive. I am writing to you with a question about my 2014 dodge charger Pursuit model, with 137,572 miles on it. It has the 5 speed, column shifter and the 5.7 hemi. The engine looks like it has a MOPAR remanufactured engine tag on the front of the passenger side cylinder head. The car is a retired state trooper cruiser, with a salvage title. My son transferred title to me, as I needed a car and he found something more suitable for himself. Altho ... | |||||

Unfortunately, all 3 options that come closest to fitting my needs and are within my budget are dodge and I've seen your videos on how you feel about dodge. With how slim and overpriced the used car market is I just don't have much to work with. The classic "stuck between a rock and a hard place" situation. My budget is about $4500 cash and I am comfortable financing about $2000 if needed. Things I am looking for in a vehicle other than the typical things like reasona ... | |||||

| I am looking at a 2019 charger V6 with 61k that has what sounds like a lifter tick. It’s not a loud ticking noise, would there be a good engine additive that would lubricate the lifters and maybe quiet them or should I fix the lifters if I decide to buy or should I avoid it all together? Below is what I am looking with a video that has the engine running towards the end. | |||||

| Hello, I watched your video on the Suner Power 18w 12v solar battery trickle charger. We have a 2009 Honda Accord that doesn't get driven very much so the battery charge will decline as normal with lower use. I want to plug the charger into the cigarette lighter or the 12v receplecle but I noticed that this recepticle provides no power when the igniter key is off and removed. Do you know if the charger would charge the battery if plugged into this receptecle. Of course I could place the negative and positive clips accross the battery terminals but due to theft of the solar panel I would prefer not to. Thank you for any information you could give me. I have found your videos to be very informative and heplful, thank you. George | |||||
| Answer to: Looking for a portable Trickle battery charger | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | nlord | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If you are at the garage every now and then, I would go with a power pack to charge it, it would be very portable. You could plug a little 1ah trickle charger in and see how it does. You could still attach the charger straight to the battery and close the hood, or shut it lightly, it shouldn't hurt anything with that small of a power cord. If you must charge it through the cigarette lighter plug, you should be able to get an adapter. Just be careful not to burn your car up by charging it, I have heard some horror stories. I got one of these about 10 years ago and it does great. It has the biggest AGM battery of any power-pack I could find, like 26ah, or half the size of a standard car battery. One like it would work well. You would have to be careful of the power draw, or risk having the trickle charger completely killing the battery on the power-pack. Most power stations only have a 10-15ah Battery. | |||||

| They will tell ya it's the "climate crisis". Building power plants is not a trivial exercise Are you seriously suggesting there won't be electricity in America? Power plants are a trivial exercise and there's no reason why private parties shouldn't be allowed to build their own plants to supply the grid. rosy projections It has finally took off into exponential growth - no projections needed. at 13% global marketshare they're already here and everywhere. NEWS: (3 hours ago) Tesla delivered 446,915 cars in Q2 of 2023. That's in addition to "over 400,000 Model Y and Model 3 (...) in the first quarter of 2023" So in Q1 and Q2 of this year they've delivered 887,723 model 3 and Y compared to just 533,358 in 2022. that's 66% growth in a year - EVs are becoming absolutely mainstream. What Tesla alone (with only 20% marketshare in the EV space) made and sold in 6 months, is more than all EVs sold in the entire year of 2016. Why go to the expense and trouble of tearing up parking lots all over the country just to put in chargers Public chargers in high density areas where private companies are willing to install them. Suburbs do not need the speeds required by public stations. At home, you don't need your car to charge in 15 minutes - for that there are public ones. The typical home EV charger is called "Level 2" and they're inexpensive. Even the largest IONIQ5 battery will charge overnight using one. They're like $200 - not a massive expense, that's like 3-4 fuel ups. How much will rents need to increase for the owners to do that In apartments? cheap level 2 chargers not much. rapid charger areas in apartments, not much either. Rapid chargers for public use - leave that to the market to figure out. How long will the batteries last when constantly fast charged Toyota says the lifespan is 1,000,000km, BYD says 1,000,000 miles. Rapid charging has gotten really good - active cooling helps a lot with it. Plenty of cars that were not particularly good have been popular The top worldwide best sellers always have been great cars (usually it's mostly Japanese sedans and SUVs, last quarter except Tesla the others are Corolla, Hilux, RAV4 and Camry) Tesla (...) Not only due to being electric but also other aspects I find undesirable Have you been in one? I 'disliked' (rather was very cautious about) them until I had the opportunity to experience one, there are cars I liked way more - but the Tesla model 3 is probably way better than you would think. The only big drawback is the lack of Apple CarPlay, needing a phone holder in a modern luxury car is just... insane. Besides, Telsa is only one the options - there are plentiful others. | |||||

| So I have a 08 dodge charger with 150k+ miles and its an automatic. I bought it back in November looking for a car at the time and I wonder if my transmission is slipping. When I go on the highway and I get up to 50mph or so and I notice a lack of acceleration but it does accelerate. My tachometer doesnt go up rapidly and I can hear that my engine doesnt rev up faster. I’ll be at around 1800 rpms or so. I’ll slowly give more gas then I feel the gear shift and my engine revs up, 2500 rpms give or take. Sorry for any confusion because I am confused myself. | |||||

| Asking for a friend. dodge charger 2010/2011. No codes. Car won’t start. We think something is up with the fuel system. We tried starter fluid, and the car starts fine. But will die because there is no fuel getting to it Before I took a look with my unprofessional eyes, he had replaced the fuel pump. And it seemed to work a few days and fixed the initial problem, but no longer. Assuming the fuel pump is fine, how would we go about finding the problem for why fuel isn’t getting into the engine. | |||||
