| 2011 Kia soul - replacing coils like crazy | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | LJLaValle | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I purchased a 2011 Kia Soul about 4 years ago with about 89,000 miles on it, and about every 6 months, I've had to replace a coil. So far, I've replaced all 4 coils. Granted, I have about 160,000 miles on it now, but it seems that coils should last at least 200k. The first time I purchased a coil from Kia it was over a hundred bucks, but thankfully, the subsequent coils were purchased from the internet for next to nothing. Have you heard much about this being a problem with Kia souls, or any other Kia? Thankfully, it's a 5 minute jo ... | |||||

| My son intends to buy a used Kia Sorento from a Kia dealer with 36,000 miles on it. From watching your videos I would think that this would be a mistake in terms of parts failing somewhere beyond 80,000 miles. Do you think that buying this Kia will end up being a big problem down the road? | |||||

| According to the Kia parts catalog: 2. Upstream sensor: Kia 39210-2G240 (replacement DENSO 234-5714) Downstream Sensor: Kia 39210-2G260 (replacement DENSO 234-8030) Before purchase verify this yourself too! Besides, have you looked at OBD live data to determine they have actually failed? These are state of the art sensors (one is not oxygen but AFR) that are also reliable and tend to last - I doubt they're your problem. | |||||

| Kia doesn't offer a decent powertrain in the US, it's all 1.6 T-GDI and 2.5 T-GDI with complex electronics and drivetrains. They're genuinely bad in the US. None that I can think of in the US. The closest car to being decent that they sold in the US is out of production and there's no info on the the gen's reliability | |||||

| Hello Scotty and happy Tuesday, Im a huge fan, enough so that my wife gets irritated that she has to fight with you for my attention. 🤣 Anyways, I own a 2016 Kia Soul and a 2019 Toyota CH-R and I noticed that the oil in the Kia gets dirtier and darker significantly faster than the CH-R. Im very curious as to why that might be. I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in both vehicles. A thousand miles after oil changes the oil in the Kia is already turning amber brownish while the CH-R is still bright yellow. Thanks a ton I appreciate the help ❤& ... | |||||
