| Answer to: 2019 Lexus GX460 - Premium or Regular gas? | 12Relevance | 2 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If the manual says 91 is required, use 91. In my state, there is no 93; 91 is our highest grade. If it says 91 is recommended then you can use 87. . I don’t understand why people buy luxury cars but balk at having to pay premium gas. Luxury cars tend to cost more in terms of ownership than non-luxury cars; it comes with the territory. Also, it’s a good idea to have researched which gas to put in before you bought the vehicle. | |||||

| I just came across the FAQ section with a link to a video where Scotty answers this question about a different car. Sorry if this was outside the guidelines for the forum. Seems like the answer is 87 will not harm the engine because of the computers ability to adjust for the grade of fuel. Thanks for the reply Justin!! | |||||

| No worries. See the owner's manual, which type of gasoline to buy is in there. | |||||

| Update Went to the dealer apparently it’s just grease from the shaft connected to the transfer case. There’s no leak thankfully the parking spot where the vehicles sits is bone dry On another note the vehicle slightly leans on the front passenger side, the dealer said that is normal for the GX but i’m not really sure. Thanks | |||||

| I don't know I can't really tell from a blurry photo. Did you actually find a leak? Or is it just residue/spillover? knowledge of what. This is an inspect and discover kind of situation. | |||||

| Hey Scotty & Community i hope you are all doing great. i recently got a brand new 23 lexus gx 460 it has about 600 miles now (still breaking in the engine) i saw the undercarriage today and noticed some oil below the transfer on the exhaust pipe here’s an image : i’m gonna take it to the dealership since it’s still under warranty but i want to go in with some knowledge on what is going on. Is this really a transfer case leak at such low mileage ? thank you all for your help. | |||||
| Answer to: Premium fuel for 2020 Lexus GX460 | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| It's possible that in the Tundra the engine is tuned differently, has different ECM programming, and may even have a lower compression ratio. Check your owner's manual. If it says premium fuel is "required", use it. If says "recommended for best performance" you can try dropping down a grade or two. | |||||
| Answer to: Lexus GX460 or Volvo XC90 | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Deathmetaljunkie420 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If you would get a Volvo at an older age like 2009 or 2011 or so with a naturally aspirated 3.2L I6 engine in it, I wouldn't think it would be a bad idea. The one you're looking at right now could have a lot of problems for the fact it has a small turbocharged 4 cylinder in that huge SUV, that engine could wear out quick! You're better off with the Lexus my friend. Also be aware about having the starter break too if you're gonna get that particular Lexus as well. If the starter breaks, it can be a real pain to get it out and the intake manifold has to be taken out in order for it to be replaced easily. But other than it, those V8 engines can go for a long time as long as they're well taken care of. Between the Volvo and the Lexus, get the Lexus! It's better to have a big SUV with a V8 than a small turbocharged 4 cylinder in it that would wear out like crazy if something goes bad or whatever. | |||||

| Either one is good deal. Volvo are known for reliability and low maintenance costs. A Lexus is practically a Toyota but more fancier. Lexus is Toyota's luxury brand I believe. Are you buying used? | |||||

| I do like the transmission in the Volvo. It’s an Aisin and the same transmission in many Toyota and Lexus vehicles, like the non-hybrid RAV4 and Highlander, and the non-hybrid NX and RX. I’m not too sure on the engines though. | |||||

| Welcome new member. Sounds like you’ve thought it through and made a good choice. Solid truck, most of which were well cared for. Only thing I can think of would be undercarriage rust, depending what part of the country it lived it’s life. Otherwise, if it passes a thorough PPI, you should be good to go. | |||||
