I have a 2007 Nissan Altima, paid for a rebuilt the transmission 3 years ago. Is it time to have the transmission fluid changed? I don't want to neglect my transmission. It has around 30k miles on it since installed.

Yes, I know Nissans aren't the greatest. Yes, I know I shouldn't have wasted the money on a rebuilt CVT transmission. I learned these things after watching Scotty's videos. . .it was too late. Thanks!

DO NOT take it to a dealer.

Change it every 30,000 miles & use the Nissan fluid for it.

Yea keep that fluid maintained and you never know the people who rebuilt could have done a decent job and it lasts awhile for you. Always better to spend a little money on fluid changes then a boat load on a new engine or trans and don't feel like you have to rush out and change the fluid today or something. I'd say 30-40k miles and change it. Looks like it can be tricky to change on some model cars with CVTs.  Just be SURE when you get it changed out that they know its a CVT and ask as many questions as you can about the service when you find a place that can do it. If you get some jobber at the Nissan dealer to change it or find someone that can on the cheap and they overfill it or under fill it you could have big problems.

Thank you. I was thinking about changing it myself. This model has a dip stick, so I can make sure the right amount is put back in. Thoughts?
