I have a 2008 Acura TSX with 155,000 miles. I bought it in March of 2021 and immediately drained and replaced the transmission fluid (it had 137,000 at that time). A few weeks ago my transmission warning light came on so I stopped and checked my fluid level which was low. I replaced the fluid and the light went away, I assume it is leaking due to not using a new crush washer. It took two months for this light to turn on
However, the light returned about 2 weeks later, but the level of the fluid was perfect. I was driving my car home and decided to pull over and restart my car, but continue driving it in manual mode. When I did this, the light did not turn back on. It has been about two weeks of driving it only in automatic mode and still the light has not turned back on. It turned on two times that day before I switched it to manual mode and never since. A friend told me this could be a stuck solenoid, but I wanted to double-check to see if anyone has any other suggestions. The car shifts and drives perfectly, no odd smells, and no obvious leaks.
Thanks for any helpful replies!
Those are insanely complex computer driven transmission and yes of the solenoid sticks or even has a minor electrical problem it'll do stuff like that personally if it works fine I would live with it if I were you because it cost a fortune to rebuild those things and they all get glitches somewhat as they age
