I have a 2012 ford fusion automatic with 109,021 miles that I bought 9 months ago. The AC blows cold for about 5-10 minutes and then blows hot air. not room temperature but full heat. when you turn the car off and then start it up, it blows cold air again for about another 5-10 minutes then goes back to heat. NO CODES. I have added freon but that didn't work. help!
sounds like a problem with the temperature blend door.
As @mmj mentioned, that kind of problem is frequently caused by improper operation of the blend door. That will not cause codes to show up on a generic OBD2 scanner. A professional-grade scan tool is required to do bidirectional testing.
Since you started working on the system regardless, how did you "add freon"? When you checked high and low system pressures with a manifold gauge set prior to adding refrigerant was a problem indicated with the refrigeration cycle?
i had the dealer do it
Hopefully then they did a proper evacuation and recharge of the system using the proper amount of refrigerant. There could be other causes but if you're getting full heat with the AC on that strongly suggests the problem is with operation of the temperature blend door.
ok thanks, I did research and it could also be the climate control module
