2013 Fiat Abarth Timing Belt

Scotty, I have a 2013 Fiat Abarth Cabrio. I only have 45k miles (8 yrs old)... service schedule says 15yrs-150k miles for timing belt. How many years can the timing belt really last? Car was mainly garage kept, in Southern California (low humidity).

At my rate I won’t hit 150k miles for another 16 years! I normally change my timing belts at 100k miles, but that is in my commuter cars which would usually only take me 4-5years.

Due to the tight work space, estimates to replace the timing belt & water pump are in the $1800-$2000 range. Mine runs like a champ with regular self maintenance. Never had anything major or minor break.

I wouldn’t chance it with an interference engine..

I would probably change it in a couple of years.
