Hi Scotty,
Id love to get your thought process on a 2022 land cruiser i purchased recently. I want to knwo what the steps to rule out if its tyre issues, rim issues or transmission issues.
While driving i feel jerks through the seat and this occurs through all speeds and rpm. Its like the drive is not smooth and the car doesnt nudge forward or backwards but u can feel the jerks in the seat. I noticed the jerks become more pronounced when cornering. The jerk sensation is almost like the power is cut to the rear wheels for a sec and then restarted again.
I took it the dealership and they took.diagnostics but gave me the usual " characteristic of the car " crap. However they did notice an issue at 20kph where the car literally vibrates when it downshifts.
I had a similar issue between 20-40kph on my rav4 adventure and toyota issued a TSB on it , so they fixed it for free. But as per the dealership real differential issue cannot exist on a land cruiser since its a different mechanism
Would love to get your thoughts and advice.
Hasan
You just found the main reason I tell people never to buy a brand new car with new designs. I have no idea how those things are going to hold up and what problems they will have you will probably have to wait until a bunch of them break like that and then they either recall them or they have reprogrammed and available for it. Obviously you're not making it up but they're not going to stand behind anything until they get a bunch of problems or gets really bad jerking and the transmission in the end of having to reprogram or replace parts of them. Sometimes I can take 5 to 8 years
I wouldn't touch a thing or you risk voiding your warranty.
Being brand new, it could be the transmission is still learning your driving habits and will smooth out with time. But as Scotty said, there is no way to know if it is a problem until more people buy those SUV's and start putting miles on them.
Take it to the dealer, grab him around the neck and demand that it be fixed.
