If you want the sportiest possible, get a V6 Coupe manual

reliability, get a I4 manual and sedan might be more practical for you

Get the 4 cylinder with manual transmission (if you like). From reliability point of view, it does not matter coupe or sedan.

They are virtually the same.

I would go with coupe because they don’t make coupes anymore.

In terms of engine, if the 4 cylinder is a timing chain, go with that. And I am pretty sure Honda switch to chains by this time. Nothing inherently wrong with the 6 cylinder. It’s just you have to worry about replacing the timing belt at certain intervals.

Generally I much prefer the 4 cylinder  less moving parts.

Regardless of coupe or sedan, stay away from VCM engines. VCM stands for Variable Cylinder Management and it shuts down a bank of cylinders.  Which potentially leads to more engine wear.  Or if you do get it, see if you can turn it off.

Does honda’s 8th generation accords have vcm engines

Some do, some don't. Usually it is is the 6 cylinders that have VCM, but not all 6 cylinders are VCM. IIRC, 4 cylinders don't have VCM.

8th gen Accord powertrain
Engine 2.0L R20A3 I4[2]
2.4L K24Z2 I4
2.4L K24Z3 I4
3.5L J35Z2 V6 - VCM
3.5L J35Z3 V6 - Non-VCM
2.2L N22A2 I4 Turbodiesel (2009-)
Transmission 5-speed manual or automatic
6-speed manual

So it appears the coupe/sedan V6 with the automatic transmission has VCM. But the V6 with the manual transmission does NOT have it.
