Best/most user-friendly (cargo) van?

I've been a truck driver for the last 16 years and I am looking to come off the road and drive as a medical courier.

If I want more room than a Toyota Sienna, what other van would you recommend?

Either something like a Chevy Express 2500 or a Ford E-Series

The E-series hasn't been made in a decade, and the ones that are out there are well used.

Yes but the modern stuff is so crappy I still think it's better

if you can find one that isn't beaten to death, which is next to impossible.

In my area they sometimes have relatively decent ones for sale

@Imperator my father-in-law bought a used E-350 with only 60k miles through an estate auction. It's a 2000. He goes to auctions almost every weekend, though. He bought it for $6k

Interesting time to be looking at vans.  Covid and the "van life" fad were very disruptive to van prices, but things have started to shake out a bit.  I hadn't heard about Mercedes Sprinter quality falling off as Scotty mentioned, but I wouldn't be surprised.  They're still probably the best full size vans, but when you consider the ratio of quality/price, they all come out the same.  IMO, it's something like this:

  1. Mercedes
  2. GM
  3. Ford
  4. ?Nissan
  5. Ram promaster

When you take price into account, they are all on even footing.  So I would make decisions on other factors, like local dealer support and reputation, and any special discounts and deals they may be running.

Then whatever you get, maintain the thing like crazy.  A well-maintained Ram promaster might be just the thing to meet your needs.

not sure what you mean by "user-friendly"

Easy to park and drive? That would be the small Transits, but they're rolling piles of junk.

Most reliable? That would be the Mercedes, but they also cost an arm and a leg.

Chrisley it's very hard for me to recommend a larger van. I find that most larger ones have problems take. For example, Mercedes used to make great large ants now they seem to fall apart just like all the other ones do. Toyota is the only one that I recommend really because everything else takes a steep drop off
