I just scanned the OBD2 scanner and am wondering what a clutch pedal "B' switch circuit is (code P0833). Should I be concerned and is the vehicle safe to drive?
It is a 2007 Saturn Ion 3 model, equipped with a manual 2.4L that has 178,000 miles on it. The clutch performs as it should, doesn't stick or anything, and the car goes into every gear fluently and easily. So because of that, I haven't had any inclination that driving it could be a bad idea. And, is this something that I really need to evaluate and replace?
Thank you for viewing and for all your suggestions and helpful advice!
As long as it starts and runs I've seen people drive them decades that way
Thanks a lot Scotty you are amazing for what you do.
I was hoping to be right but in any case, it is always important to get a second opinion so again thank you
Depressing your clutch pedal operates 2 switches .
Switch "A" is used in the starter circuit and is "closed" when the clutch pedal is pushed all the way to the floor allowing you to start your Saturn.
Switch "B" is on Saturns with cruise control. It's "closed" when your clutch pedal is all the way up. As soon as you press down a little bit on the clutch pedal, Switch "B" opens and disengages the cruise control.

Thank you, the diagram helps and the way you put it, I understand completely. Thank you again for the input.
