Hi scotty. I have a 2006 scion tc. Manual tranny. It will barely go into any of the gears including reverse. There is no noise coming from the clutch when engaged. No leaks from the clutch master cylinder. When you engage the clutch to put in gear you can feel the tranny pulling the car forward or in reverse. I've watched several videos on the matter and I'm unsure if it's the clutch or clutch master cylinder. Any ideas? Thanks, Derek.
Check the adjustment of your clutch pedal push rod per the owner's manual for correct free play.
You likely have a problem with your clutch hydraulic system, preventing the clutch from fully releasing. It could be as simple as air having entered the system, or your master and/or slave cylinder could be leaking. (Is the clutch fluid reservoir full?)
Yes the reservoir is full. No leaks anywhere. I tried to put in 1st gear earlier today and it started to grind so I let off.
Clearly the clutch is not releasing.
Some cars make you have to be sitting 0 MPH to go into first gear once old.
Bleed, or extend the master a small amount to get it to shift into gear if your lines are all running clear of air.
