Hi Scotty, I got a 2003 crown Vic that I was thinking of taking off the egr system. What would this do? How much would the performance be altered? Anything I should know? Thanks

Don't do it. It will not like it.

The engine won’t like it?

The engine and the computer. This might have been possible on an 80's era car, but you have a 2003 with modern control systems. I doubt you would be able to extricate EGR functions without serious re-engineering. It would be like removing your liver.

Besides a cel would It perform better (mpg, acceleration, etc)?

No. See the links below.

Most of them said it was good

That's not what I see.
just read this article: https://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2012/05/dont-block-or-remove-the-egr-valve-its-saving-you-money/
You won't gain anything, and you'll lose fuel economy. Your computer will be out of calibration, and engine will perform worse.

this has been asked a few times before. Pretty easy to find with the search ....

If you do decide to 86 the EGR system, consider getting a lower temperature thermostat to compensate for a hotter engine.  I personally would not do this.  Like @mmj said, on an 80s truck like mine, it was just a pain in the butt.  But on a computer controlled engine, it's an important part of the emissions system.
