Scotty - Love the channel ! I've got a 2018 2.0l ecoboost Edge with 75K miles. I take amazing mechanical care of everything however about 2000 miles ago the check engine light came on and I noticed I was losing coolant ( not leaking ). Its pretty clear that the widespread coolant intrusion issue on ford ecoboost engines is the problem. There is a class action lawsuit against ford for these engines. My question - can head gasket fix possibly solve the problem ? if not ( for the short term ) what else can be done? Ford's solution right now is replacing the defective blocks, but right now that is an expensive ( 6-8K ) solution ( which we don't know if it really solves the engineering flaw). I really love my edge and this is literally the first problem I've ever had . Help Scotty !!!! Jonathan
Scotty - there is a class action lawsuit in place against Ford and the coolant intrusion problem. They already have a technical service bulletin out for it. They know it’s an engineering flaw . Can you do a video and maybe some Clickbait on this to bring a higher level of visibility to it?
By the way I’ve come up with a short term solution to minimize the coolant loss and triggering of the misfire fault. If after you get done driving it you unscrew the coolant reservoir cap and let the pressure off no coolant leaks into the cylinder. It seems logical to me if you take the pressure off of it there’s nothing to push the coolant in through the crack. This seems to highly minimize the amount of coolant you consume. Not a fix but a Band-Aid . Please Scotty make a video and make a big deal about this issue. Ford should be replacing these blocks for free. Thank you love the channel
which we don't know if it really solves the engineering flaw
Exactly! Which is why, unfortunately, -

Try and get rid of it ASAP at a Carvana or something. Don’t get emotionally attached to a money pit!
