Trouble with starting Fusion

Hello, I'm running with all sorts of problems on my 2007 Ford Fusion S, 112,xxx miles, Automatic transmission. When I try to start the car it cranks but shuts down unless I have the gas pedal pressed to the floor or if I stump it a few times, then it starts but shuts down once the rpm starts to go down to idle. If I have the gas to the floor where the rmp is hitting the manufacturer limiter on P then the car runs for a while just fine. I have all sorts of codes. A check engine light is illuminated. I have the following codes;

p0607-ff  Control Module Performance

p060A-ff Internal Control Module Monitoring Processor Performance

p0690-ff Engine Control Module (ECM)/ Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Power Relay Sense Circuit High

p1000-ff On-Board Diagnostic (ODB) Systems Readiness Test Incomplete

P1674-ff Control Module Software Corrupted

p2105-ff Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Engine Shut down.

p2107-ff Throttle Actuator Control Module Processor

 

then I had a p0231-ff Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Low added to that list.

 

I changed the car battery and then I topped off the fuel to half a tank. I was told to run a fuel pressure test but I'm wondering how I will get accurate results when I need to be slamming on the gas to the limiter and in hope that the car doesn't die because I can't test the fuel at idle because once it starts to go down under 2,500 rpm the car just shuts down and it takes more than a few tried to get in back on.

I also did the battery whole system reset where I used a positive jumper cable to connect the positive to the ground cable to do the reset just to make sure.

 

I have a feeling that it might just be that I really need to replace the throttle body even though I already took it out and cleaned it and also cleaned the mass airflow sensor. I don't see any leaks or hoses or anything wrong. I got no idea why it is doing this problem.

Could it be the throttle body and is that P1674-ff Control Module Software Corrupted a big problem where I need to take it to a dealership to get it flushed or is there a way to fix it myself?

that's a big red flag

I would fix that before doing anything else.

it can only be done at Ford, or shop that specializes in diagnostics


Is there any way to reset the PCM it looks like it without having to go to the dealership? That will cost a fortune especially with having to tow the car to them to another town. It would be much faster and cheaper for me to buy a VCM2 IDS from China for about 200$ and run it myself. What do you think?


It sounds like you don't really know what's involved. You don't even know what the source of the problem is. I certainly don't, so I'm not going to tell you that you should. What I do know, is that it's going to be more than you expect. If you want to gamble on Chinese knockoffs and dive into PCM programming, then that's totally on you. How often are you going to use the equipment? Personally, it's not worth my time, and I'd give it to somebody who does it for a living because a solution is guaranteed and I don't risk my money. I just had a transmission module diagnosed, replaced, and programmed for $600, which I was happy to part with for a 1 day turnaround. I make that much money in a day in my profession. I certainly would not be able to diagnose a complex computer problem like yours, get a part, and learn to program in one day. YMMV.


True, True. However, I did make some progress today. I disconnected the plug for the throttle body. I guess you can call it the plug for the sensor. Firstly I disconnected the Mass Airflow Sensor plug and the car didn't want to start at all, so I connected it back and then disconnected the throttle body plug and the car started. It starts and it runs to 2k RPM but however, it sounds like it is running at a much higher RPM....I thought it was pure luck that it started so I turned it off and I tried to start it again and boom it started again. I will be replacing the throttle body so hopefully, that clears it and I'm able to drive the car because now I'm scared to remove it from Park into Drive or anything else as I don't want the RPM to skyrocket and damage the engine as I believe that plug gives power to the sensor to regulate the throttle body and now it is running at fully open. If this works when I replace it do you think the PCM ECU will learn from driving it probably a couple of hundred miles and clear that corrupt software code as since now it doesn't make sense for the car to run with a corrupt software?


just because it started without the throttle plugged in, it doesn't mean the throttle is bad, and those are really expensive parts. You're much better off paying that money to a professional, than buying random parts and hoping it will fix your problem.
I'm going to repeat my advice : deal with malfunctioning PCM
