Hey Scotty -
I dont know crap about cars, but I do enjoy watching your videos. I tend to agree with you alot in regards to old school vehicles vs. the more modern type of cars that use electronic gear shift and parking brakes. It really takes away from the driving experience. Give me clutch gear shift and manual parking brake - I am happy. Electronic spedometers are OK and I can live with it if done well. But analogue gauges when done well is so much better to have.
I am in the market to purchase a car to replace my 2 door 2009 bmw 335i-xdrive that I recently lost due to flooding. Being in the car market now - I discovered I cant get a more economical 2 door V6 engine anymore. So I had to change my priorities on my car needs. That means I would be looking at getting a 4 door, 4 cylinder, less than 250 HP motor car. More of a family-oriented type of car.
I was about to purchase a 4 door 4 cylinder volkswagen passat. I am more of a 2 door kind of guy myself. My test drive experience is like what you mentioned in your volkswagen video - it handled well and had decent pickup. It is no BMW - and the cars I test driven proves that there is nothing like the BMW I once had. When BMW makes the claim that they are the ultimate driving machine - they mean it !!!
Once I saw your video about Volkswagens - I ended my pursuit to engage on the purchase. I then decided to focus my attention between Honda Accords and the parent car - the Acura TLX lines. I went on-line, and am now about to acquire a Honda Accord. It is a 2 Door V6 engine with 22000 miles. It should arrive later in the week. So what do you think ???
I steered clear of the 1.5 liter engines that you mentioned in your videos which is why I find your videos so valuable. I also love your style of videos, so please dont ever change !!! Even after I acquire the car, I am sure I will find myself continue to watch your videos - even if they dont relate to Honda Accords.
If you are ever in the NYC Westchester Area, let me know. Maybe we can meet up.
Take care Scotty !!!! And keep revving your engines !!!
Mike
Sounds like you made a great choice to me.
I miss my 2008 BMW 335xi coupe. Was a fun car and you're right, BMW does make a product all it's own.
I went from a 2007 BMW X5 back to my old yet trusted 1999 Honda Accord.
I love BMW performance and feeling, but damn those things are an arm and a leg to maintain.
Like Mod Man, I miss my BMW too, but I don’t miss the maintenance and repair costs of a BMW.
What year Accord are you getting.
