My 2013 Honda Civic CVT Sedan says it was made in Canada not Japan on the driver side door, does that mean I have a crap car? Is there anything I should keep a close eye on due to this?
No worries. Canadian made vehicles are very good quality. I'd own one in a heartbeat.
Based on what he's said in previous videos, I would think Scotty would say (correct me if Im wrong) while made in Japan is ideal, made in Canada is better than Mexico (or sadly even the U.S.).
Canadians make good cars. You should just continue basic maintenance with the needed intervals from the owners manual and it should last. I certainly wouldn't call it "crap." Scotty's Matrix was made in Canada as well. This is open to discussion but Scotty and most of the members agree Canadians make good cars. Honda makes a lot of their small cars in Mexico and the US as well and Canada is the better of the three.
Also keep in mind most/some of the parts are from Japan, but just assembled in Canada. As for craftmanship, Canadians seem to be a lot better than Americans in terms of quality control.
no its fine. its just made in north america for tax purposes.
I own honda civic type R which is made in Canada. But before buying my Civic type r I owned honda civic coupe si which was also made in canada. I got it used for $11000 with 120000miles on it. The car lasted me 6 years through out college and university. Never had major issues only yearly maintenance which was around $200 to $500 depending on how you drive. The car was solid build and had bullet proof vtec inline 4 engine.
I took the car on racing on tracks I literally beat cars much faster than mine. It's been 8 years now cars has 400000miles on it and it still work like it's brand new.
