I have a 2014 Hyundai Elantra Sport with 147,540 miles and a six speed standard transmission. I have changed my oil with 5w20 full synthetic high mileage oil about every 5000 miles. I usually put top tier fuel in my car. Recently, I started using Chevron Techron fuel treatment after my oil changes.
The car burns a quart of oil about every 700 miles. Should I get walnut blasting to physically remove any carbon build up in the cylinder chambers and intake valves. Or, should I try a chemical pour in oil and fuel treament.

Pretty much normal for a Hyundai.

That won't affect oil consumption.

Fuel treatment won't affect oil burning, nor will it help carbon buildup on the valves because fuel never touches the intake valve on a GDI engine.
Chances are the oil burning is caused by your engine wearing out but there are some things you can try. One would be to change the PCV valve.
A fuel treatment won't help. A carbon clean oil treatment might if the oil consumption is at least in part due to carbon buildup on oil control rings. Scotty recommends ATS "505CRO" oil treatment.
@chucktobias Thank you. I will try the oil treatment and check the PCV.
