Hi Scotty,

Thanks for all the help that you provide the community.

I have Hyundai accent 2008 with 109k miles on it. It first threw P0328 and so I got the knock sensor replaced but now even after replacing it it’s still making tickling sound. I tried liqui moly hydraulic lifter additive and it made the sound little better but just want to get your thoughts on what else should I try?

Did you use another knock sensor by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)? Cheap, Chinese aftermarket stuff won't cut it.

Yes I bought this from Amazon apparently would that cause the issue !! Also where can I buy Hyundai genuine knock sensor from. Appreciate the help

I'm sure Amazon sells OEM parts as well. You can also find one at RockAuto.

Amazon vendors are notorious for selling counterfeit parts.

You can obviously buy it from the dealer but an internet search for something like "hyundai oem parts" should turn up some discount sources. Those are frequently dealers who sell online for less.

Of course you realize that OBD2 codes don't tell you what part to replace. They tell you that some error condition exists that will usually have multiple potential causes. So unless you did troubleshooting that ruled out other possibilities it may have been premature to replace the knock sensor.

part dealers.

The brick & mortar kind. They're the most reliable.

Quick update I put in premium fuel and the tickling noise is no longer there. Not sure why it would do so ?

Total guess, maybe the ECU compensated for new fuel (adj. timing) and it stopped the pre-ignition rattle.
