Lincoln town car vs Toyota??

Hello guys,

I have a silly question. I really like the 2003-2011 lincoln town car. I've heard they are extremely reliable and inexpensive to repair. My question is, is the town car just as reliable as something like a Toyota camry? The town cars are significantly less expensive. I'm looking for a good daily commuter car.

Thanks in advance!

Love em.

2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car. One of the vehicles built on the old Ford Panther platform, body-on-frame construction, rear-wheel drive, 4.6L V8 engine 4 speed transmission. It's a big 4-door sedan, about 224 HP so it's not a race car, weighs about 2 tons so it corners OK but not great, but it has that super-reliable engine/transmission combination, and the things are made like tanks.

But you wouldn't be sitting on a tank seat, instead they are very well appointed, almost plush, with good features for the time they were made. Nice styling, many were used as limo's, some even stretched to + 4 feet and more.

Full-sized car so not great economy around town, about 22 on the highway. And on the highway is where it shines. Roll for hours in full, quiet, smooth comfort. Urban use can be a little difficult, you need to be careful in tight traffic and you need big parking spaces.

Big interior and the famous HUGE trunk ! Average yearly maintenance for low miles machine about $400-$500/year, easy on insurance, tons and tons of parts available.

Historically very, very reliable. Well-cared for copies can easily see 200,000 miles, some examples like limos have been documented to last 400,000 - 500,000 miles and more.

And this is the good part, they can be found in most markets for $4,000 - $12K, depending on year, miles, and condition. Much less costly than even some civics or corollas, depending on year and other considerations.

But if you want one, work soon because good examples are going away fast. I would avoid one with over 200,000 miles, look for a 09-11 vehicle one in the 30-70k miles range ?
