Hi Scotty 2014 avenger problem with heat accept when recycle button is on why would that be I’m in new York it’s cold outside if that matters ? Ty

Recycle air is more efficient for heating up compared to fresh air setting. Fresh air setting will bring air from outside to inside your car and less efficient.

But still you should have good heat when the circulation is off. Check your coolant level.

if it was that, then he wouldn't be getting heat with recirculation on, right?
He gets heat in both cases, but it i more efficient when it is on circulation.

Sounds like something going on with the diverter doors. I would pull the passenger side kick panels off and have a look under there.
Also check if the heater hoses are getting hot enough.
