For the longest on certain cars that I have owned in the past have suffered from severe battery terminal corrosion. I have always made sure the my battery is fairly new and charged along with a good working order alternator. I've always cleaned the battery terminals and have taken every step to prevent corrosion such as using protective coating and clean/good battery terminal connection cables, Etc. In the end, those certain cars sooner or later would have the battery terminals corroded again. Then one day, I met a retired mechanic who worked for a car dealership and I asked him what is the best way to avoid and/or prevent battery terminal corrosion? He advised to take a penny and super-glue it on the battery about 3/4 of an inch from the terminal connectors. The penny will absorb the corrosion and keep the terminals practically corroded free. I have been trying it for about 10 years and it works. One time, I had to re-glue a penny, but otherwise...all pennies glued stayed on the battery. I never had electrical problems, battery failing, alternator failure, trouble codes, or caught fire.
I'm wondering if anyone knows about this trick and if it is a good idea or is it a bad thing to do.
What are the Pro's and cons?

I have never herd of that. Very interesting.
