So... bought a new Chevy Equinox last month. What a joke. I'm missing options on the build sheet, found a big blemish on the rear of the steering wheel and now they won't fix it. My mistake was not driving this car first, it was on the show room floor. Who knows hoe many asses were in the seats before we bought it. Brand loyalty counts for nothing with these guys anymore. Any chance you want to help like you did with the video you made for the Toyota engine people?
Dealerships always try to get rid of cars in stock, even if the specs are "close enough" to what you want. Getting vehicles in from elsewhere costs them money. The "build sheet" to them is only a "suggestion sheet".
Car salesmen are good at one thing.. convincing you to sign your name. Once the deal is done, forget about them trying to help you.
My family member went through the same thing recently with a "new but not current" Rav4. They promised her cargo mats and window rain guards, but we had to hound the guy for over a month and about half a dozen times before he finally sent her to a body shop to have the guards installed. He didn't bother ordering the mats until the last minute. They don't want to take the mats out of the other vehicles because that would affect their sale, and they don't want to pay to order new ones. That's how stingy they are, and they rely on the fact that most people just give up. The guards and mats ended up being cheap junk, by the way.
Do not sign your name to the dotted line before you are absolutely satisfied.
I wouldn't lose any sleep about a blemish on the back of the steering wheel. You're supposed to buy display models at a discount because of imperfections like this. What options are you missing?
Went through something similar very recently where the toolkit was missing. The salesman finally agreed to source one (from another identical vehicle on the lot) 5 mins before we made the complete payment. It’s extremely important to do a pre delivery inspection before you accept delivery/finalise the deal.
In this crazy market right now, if you’re over your vehicle, try listing it for sale at your purchase price/slightly above & see what happens..
Take my claim with a grain a salt. I am not sure you can say that I'm not satified with the vehicle. Can you take it back? I think you're better off listening to other people in carkiller than me.
The car is mine, and I do like it. Have been a biwtie fan of for years I have seen the quality drop but they have always cared for repeat customers. This time it's different.
Missing options? Oh well.
Blemish on the leather? Not a mechanical issue, no fix for you.
Been a loyal customer who buys every 2- 4 years? What have you done for us lately?
@Wedge. They want to use planned obsolesces to gain more money rather than caring about their customers.
