A few days ago I was rear ended on the freeway by a speeding Dodge Ram diesel. The driver only had his proof of insurance and no license or registration. I was traveling with the flow of traffic at 65 MPH, had 2 vehicle length space, and was maintaining my lane for the upcoming interchange. I have the dash cam footage and have hired an attorney. The Dodge Ram shattered the rear windshield, bent the liftgate, and wedge the bumper to the tire. There might of also been damage to the fuel tank. I had to have it towed because I smell the tire was rubbing with bumper and smelled the exhaust coming inside.
The attorney told me that the insurance decision to repair or replace will be on Tuesday or Wednesday but to prepare to search for a new vehicle just in case, but he thinks its a total loss. I purchased the vehicle from a dealer back in August 2020 and purchased the extended warranty. Its being financed by Ally Auto.
There were no problems with the vehicle other than the climate control turning on, blurry reverse cam, battery saver mode, and the turn signal. The modules for the climate control and steering wheel and the reverse camera replacement were covered by the extended warranty.
What do you advise? It might be repairable but these modern vehicles have too many electronics.
You better off taking the money and run fixing rear end damage those speeds is usually full Hardy
If its totalled start looking for another car it isn't worth to have a salvage or rebuilt title on your car odds are it won't be fixed right and you will have more problems and good luck selling a totalled car...
