Hey,
I bought a 2010 ES350 with 140K miles on it (a lot is highway miles). I don't know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed (last owner didn't change it but wasn't the original owner), it shifts perfectly fine and has no issues at all.
Of course it's a sealed system so checking the fluid and changing will be a pain. Would it be risky to change the transmission fluid? Thanks!
Also, is it possible to filter the old fluid and put the specks into the new fluid for friction?
I would. See here for your vehicle -

You’re better off just saving all of the old fluid in a clean container.
2007 Lexus ES350, 177K miles. Permit me to share my last 2 transmission experiences.
I've had transmission fluid service 3 times before without a problem. But then...
Took it to the local Toyota dealer to change the fluid because their service department is open on Saturday- I need my car to do my job M-F. They used a flush machine, after that, the transmission flares (engine revs) when shifting from 3rd gear to 4th gear- it didn't before I brought it to them. I talked to them about it they said my torque converter clutch is bad. They can replace it for $$
The car was still drivable and a short time later, I left the car with a local transmission shop all day, they said they can rebuild the tranny for $$ or install a used one for slightly less. Didn't offer a rebuilt unit.
After reading another member's comment about BG transmission service, I took it to an independent shop I've used before and asked them to do this for my car. The flare is gone. I was elated that I didn't need to repair or replace the transmission but indignant about the shops that said I did. Hope you have better luck than I did.
