Should I make this trade?

Currently have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with the 6.4L 392 hemi engine. It has about 68 thousand miles. Thinking of trading it in for a 2020 honda civic si sedan with the 1.5L GDI turbo engine. Is this a trade that's worth it? I know that I'll get better fuel economy but I live in Wisconsin so the all wheel drive in the Jeep would come in handy.

Thanks!

The Honda does have GDi and a Turbo which would wear it out faster BUT if you keep the Jeep the engine and tranny WILL go out soon and you will be left broke. The Civic should be trouble free 150 200k miles, while Jeeps fall apart at 50 60 70k miles AT MOST. Hope this was helpful!

How about a RAV4 or 4Runner instead? Since you’re coming from an SUV, has your use case changed dramatically to switch to a sedan?

Honestly I’d get the 2.0L NA Civic as the Honda 1.5L turbos have a history of oil dilution problems.

I'm not going with another SUV because I want a vehicle that has a manual transmission. And they're becoming more and more scarce.

Fair enough, manual transmissions are a delight to use, in locations which don’t see a lot of traffic.

2.0 engine in a 2016+ Civic w/ manual transmission is the most reliable you will get for a newer civic.

1.5 w/ GDI w/ Turbo seems like a scary thought to me. A 2.0 Naturally Aspirated will be the most reliable .
