I scanned my car because the SES light came on. The image below is what came up. Ignore the other codes I am just trying to figure out the P1772 code. It appears in both the Stored and Pending codes section. Does this mean it is an actual issue or is the ECU still not sure if it is a problem yet. (I know for sure the SES light came on for one of the different codes).
I have resolved the other issues I am just and I just cleared all the codes. I am just wondering about this because I am planning a 6-8 hour drive in a few days and am worried if it is safe to drive my car that distance if there is an actual issue with the p1772 code or if the ECU is just confused.
Stored means all conditions were meet to have the code stored and garner attention. Pending simply means SOME of the conditions are meet for it to throw the code again but it may not set the additional ones in which case the pending would go away, common with parts going bad gradually (why sometimes a code can be cleared and the car doesn't throw it again till much later... borderline spec'ed/broke part). Check all your throttle position sensors/positioners for smooth non-noisy operation.
As for safe, no one can make that call but I wouldn't hesitate (assuming that was all that was showing up).
