Tacoma - All Terrain or All Season tires

I have a 2013 tacoma, bought used with Toyo A/T tires 285/70r17. I need to get new tires, but wondering if I should stick to A/T or switch to All-Season.

I live in Western Mass on a dirt road, a good amount of snow for winter. But I do tons of highway driving. Looking for input as well as considering longevity of car.

Thanks.

2WD or 4WD?

You might like something like a Michelin Defender LTX M+S that has a highway tred pattern but is known to be good in snow and mud (hence the M+S name). BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, and Continental all make very very good A/T tires, too.

Yes, absolutely, jm . Had those tires when I had a 2014 Tundra. Absolutely fantastic stopping performance in foul weather. Nice ride on dry pavement. And above average off road. Best tires I ever bought.

The Continental Terrancontact AT might be a good compromise. All terrain tire that’s good on the highway. I don’t have personal experience, but the reviews are stellar, and the company has a good reputation.

Thanks.

second part to this equation, my tires (285/70r17) are on a 17" XD rim. Should I keep that exact size of tire or should I/can I go 265/70r17 to be closer to stock. Yes I have a lift, not sure how big as it was also put on when i bought the truck.

Thank you
Marcus
