Are all toyota models reliable or are there some bad toyotas? Im thiking of getting new a tacoma
or corolla.
Toyota has had some bad models. I wouldn't buy a newer model because the prices of new cars is high as ever.

Yes, I agree.
Toyota has made some horrendous cars over the years, I’d know that cause I own an ‘08 Corolla MMT built in Japan.
-
The car has rust (I live in a place where there is rain for like one month out of an entire year) the clutch fork has rusted, the clutch actuator is spraying hydraulic fluid, the engine has chain noises and water flows freely into the cabin…
Oh and it has just only 110k miles, and i know all of the previous owners well.

The Avensis, the Aruis, the Yaris, the HiAce and many more are equality as bad.
-
Many of their cars are built to fail, like how their CVT and automatics are purposely incredibly difficult to service (oil changes are an issue, not to even speak of a filter change)
Even Hyundai-Kia didn’t design their cars to make their owners’ lives that tiny bit more agonizing.
-
The only great Toyota’s are sold in Asia, the Fortuner and Innvoa. and some rebadged Daihatsu products are also quite good.
But to their credit, many of their US models were quite good.
The cvt in my 2013 prius was as easy as a differential. The newer sealed units in automatics are bad for most all car makers I think, but my old 4runner, corolla, scion xb, and more were easy to service the tranny.
@nlord
Yep, These are the models that were good.
Try servicing a newer Toyota CVT like a Corolla hybrid - it's bound to be a huge headache. at this point I've given up trying to deal with their shenanigans and just avoid them the same way I avoid a Nissan...
Speak for yourself, my Yaris has been a great car.
@rpmartin32 how many Yaris's have you owned or worked on?
Just the one. I'm just providing my feedback. Not saying they're all amazing.

You are always taking a chance with something new, unless the series has been out a while, and have have gotten any issues worked out already.
