Hi Scotty I have a 2000 Toyota solara with 105,779 miles on her and she has an abs light and I went to my local shop he said it was a speed sensor so I changed it and the light was still on then I went back he said it’s another sensor so at this point I said change all the sensors just to play it  safe. But the light is still on. When I pull the parking brake down and put the car in drive I hear a loud knock sounds like it’s coming from the rear brake drums I never ask him about that cuz it just started not to long ago do you know how I could get the abs light off and what that knock could be thank you and stay safe.

You should find someone with a high level scan tool to read the ABS codes and go from there.

Like we told you when you posted the same question a year ago ...

When a warning light is on, it means there's a diagnostic fault. You run a diagnostic scan to find out what the fault is.

What are the trouble codes that the scan pulled up?

I have been to several mechanics and they all try and scan it but they say that the car has no codes only one mechanic was close but still couldn’t do it I’m at a loss

You need a sufficiently advanced scan tool to diagnose the ABS fault.

I went to many mechanics with high scan tools before spent hundreds of dollars for them to say they can’t find any codes and that the abs is fine but it’s not

they can’t find any codes

maybe the light is just stuck on. Or incompetent mechanics.

This isn't terribly uncommon. The brake hardware may start to bind up a bit as it gets worn out or rusty. Especially for a 23yo vehicle.

Take it apart, clean it out, lube it, adjust the park brake tension, and replace what's needed.

I wouldn't be surprised if you had a groove/lip worn into your brake drum.

Another issue on decades-old drum brakes is the contact points on the backing plate can wear down, especially if they're never lubricated which almost no one seems to bother with. When this happens the brake shoes won't line up straight with the drum and can bind up.

Hi I have a 2000 Toyota solara with around 107,000 miles and the abs light is on yesterday I was driving in the rain and my car was skidding all over I had the wheel speed sensors replaced but the light is still on and now when it’s wet or the ground has dirt it just skids out I don’t know how to fix it please help thank you and stay safe

Do you have near-bald tires, or old tires with hardened rubber? I have some non-ABS cars and they do not slide all over the road in the rain. Obviously you'll want to repair the ABS since your car is equipped with it but it sounds like you may have other problems going on.

This is the 3rd time you've reposted the same issue. We asked your for the trouble codes each time, and you did not provide them.

Please read and understand our forum rules on the main page. If you repost the same question again you will be banned. Thank you

Pulling codes is just the bare beginning of the diagnostic process. You need a mechanic armed with a professional-grade bidirectional scan tool and a willingness to use it in troubleshooting the problem.
