Tundra Terminal Smoking

My 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7L with 403k has the negative battery terminal smoking when the truck is running.   The Tundra sits and doesn’t get much use so  the battery has to be maintained most of the time or it goes dead.  Should I just replace the battery or is it something else?

That would usually be caused by high resistance causing the connection to heat up. Replace the negative battery terminal and cable.

Got it! Thank you so much.

I'm assuming here that the smoke is coming from the terminal itself, not wafting up from inside the battery.
